Except most governments have laws preventing monopolies. In my country (Australia) we have specific laws regulating and preventing anti-competitive conduct except in very specific situations.

The housing industry and the consumer goods industry are very different, and your painting of them with the same broad strokes does nothing but indicate your understanding of economics and the market is more facile than you would have people believe.

Of course, you profit from this kind of rhetoric. Simplistic doomsaying is big business on Medium. Ironic that you get money from promoting the end of capitalism, calling for a blanket ban on advertisement, and decrying "rent seeking", while at the same time advertising a subscription website and advertising your books on Amazon.

It's almost as if you don't truly believe what you're saying.
