Excellent article. I have come to this perspective myself in my most recent piece on Death, Amnesia and the Nature of Subjective Aliveness.
Death is not something that the first person consciousness will ever experience. We can only ever experience other people’s “deaths". But is that truly death? Or irrevocable change from one state to another? Phran the ego that felt “I Am" when she was alive, that ego is dissolved into the imprints she left upon her loved ones. You carry her with you in your own ego.
But the feeling of “I Am, I Am, I Am Awake and Alive" never dies, from its own perspective.
