Dude, I'm in sales and it doesn't destroy your humanity (so long as you're not selling something unethical or in an unethical way). I'm a salesperson as my job, because it pays the bills really well. I am an artist, a writer, a philosopher and a mystic as well. This man doesn't have to choose between comedy and making a living. Sales gives a good work life balance and really good pay.
