Do you guys share a bank account? If not, and you’re equally sharing the bills, I don’t see what the problem is.

If you are, I suggest you guys have a shared bank account AND each have a separate account. Once Mr K gets paid he pays into the shared account his share of the bills, and whatever is left he can do what he likes with. Such as buy Jethro Tull CDs. :P
