Damn. It was a strange time. I do think it's possible that Amy did pursue him. When I was a 14 year old girl I was also very horny and had intense crushes on older men.

That doesn't mean though that "Brown" should have accepted her advances. That's on him.

Yeah she may have wanted to do it, but 14 year olds want all sorts of things that are not safe and it's the job of responsible adults to protect them by saying no.

It reminds me of all the teen groupies that would follow famous bands during the 70s. Many of them had sex with famous rock stars when they were minors. We rightfully condemn the rock stars for sleeping with underage groupies. At the same time many of the groupies to this day assert they chose to do it and that they had agency in the experience.

I think it complicates the "victim/perpetrator" narrative, although it still does not justify statutory rape at all because the older man should have said no.

When I was a teen I had intense crushes on rock stars myself. I wanted to have sex with them. But looking back now as an adult, I know it would have been dangerous and wrong for my fantasies to have come true.
