As someone who struggled with an eating disorder but still wants to be physically healthy, the way I came to my sense of inner peace was through mindfulness. The free app Recovery Road was extremely helpful, as it allows you to log your meals as well as your emotional state, how hungry or full you are before and after your meals, and you can learn to distinguish what you actually feel when you eat. It retrains you to trust your body's cues again, because for a long time I truly couldn't tell whether I was hungry or full most of the time and so I relied on calorie counting and body measuring instead. I highly recommend it. I haven't lost weight with it, but I have instead lost the unhealthy mindset associated from my ED.

The other thing I did was start listening to meditative lectures by Alan Watts while going for leisurely evening walks around my neighbourhood. Alan Watts speaks about many concepts from Hindu, Buddhist and Daoist philosophy, most particularly the concept of nondualism which helps you to become less identified with your ego and more identified with the whole universe - this was very liberating to me and helped me shed the anxiety around my body.
