As an Australian, that's not what "freedom from religion" means. It means not having people's religions superseding your secular rights (that are supposed to apply to everyone). Including your rights to have other religious or nonreligious beliefs. It's specifically for things like - religious schools firing teachers for being gay (since all other employers in Australia have to abide by secular non-discrimination laws). It means you can't use "sincere religious belief" as an excuse to infringe upon the legal rights of someone who doesn't share your religious belief.
