Are you saying hate crimes don't happen?

I do agree that the "epidemic" of hate crimes is overblown/exaggerated - if I look into the statistics of say transgender murder victims and crunch the numbers, they're actually less likely to be victims of murder than cis people. On a per capita basis.

But does that mean that hate crimes aren't real?
