Ah I see, yeah that makes sense. I didn't realise the history about why they chose not to cast a trans actress for that. I guess my bar for queer rep in that movie was kind of low because I didn't even know it would be queer and I also knew it was made in a time where homophobia and transphobia was even worse than today.

I feel the character herself is treated sensitively but I guess more from a perspective of a fictional character rather than a real person's life adaptation.
